24V flexible LED neon makes it possible to create uniform lines of light, outlines, lettering, shapes and decorative features with a professional finish. Its diffusing cover conceals the individual LED points and produces a continuous effect similar to traditional neon, combined with the flexibility and efficiency of LED technology.
It is used in shops, restaurants, hotels, window displays, homes, events, furniture, walls, ceilings and signage projects. Its 24V DC operation makes it particularly suitable for medium and longer installations where reduced voltage drop is required.
For the same power, 24V LED neon requires approximately half the current of a comparable 12V product. This helps reduce cable heating and voltage loss along the installation.
24V neon is often suitable for longer lines, commercial installations and architectural projects. However, the maximum run depends on the power consumption, internal circuit and specifications of each model.
12V products may provide shorter cutting intervals. If the design requires very precise dimensions, check the distance between cutting points before choosing between 12V and 24V.
A conventional LED strip leaves the individual diodes visible unless it is combined with a profile and diffuser. Flexible LED neon integrates the circuit inside a diffusing cover that softens the light and creates a more uniform illuminated line.
This makes it suitable for applications where the light source remains visible, including signs, logos, outlines, shelving, façades, decorative shapes and architectural details.
24V DC neon must not be connected directly to a 230V electrical supply. It requires a compatible 230V to 24V DC power supply with sufficient capacity for the installed length.
Calculate the required power by multiplying the consumption per metre by the total length and include a safety margin. The neon and power supply must use exactly the same voltage.
For longer installations, the capacity of the cables, connectors, controllers and other components must also be considered. Every component must support the current and total circuit power.
Although a 24V system performs better over longer runs than a 12V system, a gradual reduction in brightness can still occur. With RGB or CCT products, voltage drop may also cause visible colour differences towards the end of the section.
Use cables with a suitable cross-section, power the neon from both ends or add intermediate power injection points. For larger projects, dividing the installation into several sections connected in parallel may provide a better result.
24V flexible LED neon may only be cut at the points indicated by the manufacturer. The cutting interval varies according to the internal circuit, so every section should be planned before installation begins.
Observe the positive and negative polarity and correctly identify the channels on CCT, RGB and RGBW products. Use connectors, cables and end caps designed for the format and dimensions of the neon.
Side-bending and vertical-bending models are available. Check the permitted bending direction and minimum bending radius before installation. The product should not be twisted, folded or forced around tight corners.
Profiles, guides and mounting clips help maintain straight lines and uniform curves. Correct fixing improves the finish and prevents unnecessary strain on the electrical connections.
Depending on the model, flexible neon can provide warm, neutral or cool white light, a single colour, CCT, RGB or RGBW. Brightness and colour adjustment require a 24V LED neon controller compatible with the number of channels and connected power.
If the load exceeds the controller’s capacity, the installation may need to be divided or expanded with signal amplifiers. Do not connect a greater length than permitted by the controller manufacturer.
For bathrooms, terraces, façades and areas exposed to moisture, choose a model with a suitable IP rating. Cutting points, connectors, end caps and cable entries must be correctly sealed.
The protection of the outer cover alone does not make the complete installation waterproof. Avoid immersion and standing water unless the product is specifically designed for those conditions.
