LED filament bulbs combine the appearance of traditional incandescent lamps with the efficiency of LED technology. Their visible filaments and different glass designs make them particularly suitable for open luminaires, pendant lights, wall lamps, table lamps and decorative lighting installations.

Vintage bulbs for open luminaires

The visible filament turns the light source itself into part of the luminaire’s design. For this reason, vintage LED bulbs are widely used in living rooms, dining areas, bedrooms, restaurants, bars, hotels, cafés and shops where lighting is intended to create character and atmosphere.

Clear glass bulbs provide a better view of the filament structure and offer a classic appearance. Amber, gold or smoked glass produces a warmer and more decorative effect, especially when the bulb is used without a shade or inside an open luminaire.

E27 and E14 filament bulbs

Filament bulbs are mainly available with an E27 large screw cap or an E14 small screw cap. Before ordering, check the lamp holder and available dimensions, as globe and Edison-style bulbs can be considerably larger than a standard light bulb.

Compare the number of lumens to determine the actual light output. Some decorative bulbs are designed to produce soft atmospheric lighting, while other models provide enough brightness to be used as the main light source.

Colour temperature and dimming

Extra-warm colour temperatures recreate the appearance of a traditional light bulb and produce an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. Conventional warm white provides clearer illumination while maintaining the comfortable character associated with filament bulbs.

If you want to adjust the brightness, choose a dimmable LED filament bulb and make sure the dimmer is compatible with LED technology. Not every filament bulb is dimmable, so this specification should always be checked before installation.
